Now why in the world would you want to cut off the stock suspension Toyota spent years designing? Simple, it just cannot take the stresses of off-road driving, it has very limited wheel travel, and is prone to breaking axle shafts, prematurely wearing out, and is very expensive to maintain. A Solid Axle has much more wheel travel, it is far cheaper to maintain, and, using a good axle, yields larger, stronger gears, and axle shafts.

When we decided to develop Solid Axle Conversion kits for the Tacoma truck and 4Runner, we knew we were starting with a very different animal. So we wiped the slate clean and started from scratch. After hours, days, and weeks of designing, redesigning, testing, and redesigning again, we were ready to produce kits that were easy for YOU to install!

Our new Solid Axle Swap Kit (TSAS) is ready for you! This kit will allow you to mount leaf springs to the front of your Tacoma truck and 4Runner. However, we realize people use their trucks differently, so this kit is designed to work with 45-47 inch long leaf springs. This length is measured along the length of the spring, with the spring flat.

This kit will work best using a front spring for an older solid axle Toyota truck. To calculate lift, simply take the advertised lift height of that spring, and add 2", this will give you the number of inches you will get out of our kit combined with the Tacoma frame itself. For example, a 4" spring and our kit, yields 6" front lift.

*NEW: Shackle hanger mount (see pic). This new style allows for even more under frame attachment for the shackle hanger!


  • Front hangers are CNC formed from 1/4" thick steel plate, and accept 18mm hardware, which is included.
  • The front Hanger assembly is built to brace both sides of the hangers vertically, horizontally, and across the opening to keep them attached and square through years of hard wheeling.
  • Shackle Hangers are built with the angle of the frame already built into them, meaning installation is easy, and results in a VERY strong attachment. These brackets weld on to the bottom, as well as the inside of the frame rail to help spread stress and provide greatly improved strength. The shackles are made up of hefty 3/8" plates that accept 18mm hardware.
  • Frame bushings are thick enough and large enough to handle the weight of your truck and all of the stress you put it through. By utilizing a wide bushing, we reduce play in the shackles. Reducing this play leads to longer bushing life, better handing, better steering response, less road wander, and better overall control of the truck. Best of all, it does not reduce spring travel.
  • Last but not least, we provide a 1/8" thick box tube to be welded between the very front of the frame rails. Reinforcement of this area will allow your frame to handle the new strain caused by the leaf springs. Combine this kit with our Steering Box/Frame Plate Kit, and you're on your way to ridding your truck of the failure prone independent suspension!
  • All parts are bare steel, ready to be welded.
