Always looking for ways to improve our products, we are proud to announce a new feature available in the semi-float axle housings! Anyone who has seen a rear semi float shaft break, can attest to the collateral damage typically done. Snapping the shaft at the splines allows the shaft tip, to bang around as the tire is loaded differently. This typically destroys the adjuster nut VERY fast, and can dstroy the locker snout, especially on ARB, damage an ARB seal housing, trash the carrier bearing, and even 3rd member housing.

Since many folks opt for the stock width housings, and want to use stock length shafts, we wanted to find a way to limit, or eliminate this damage from occurring. Our idea is to prevent the shaft tip, after breaking the shaft, to be allowed much movement radially, thereby eliminating expensive collateral damage.

As shown, the new puck is machined to a press fit, and welded into the housing tube. Everything is carefully kept inline through our jigs during welding, and what's left is a shaft running with about .050 of clearance. The holes are in place for oil to flow in and out of the tubes, keeping the seals/bearings lubed at the axle ends. The picture is inside our FToy's new rear axle, just prior to testing.
